Victoria Sponge Cake

Ingredients

4oz Self raising flour

4oz white sugar

4oz Butter

2 Eggs

Method

Preheat the oven at 200c.

While the oven is heating up, you need to:

1. Grease the backing tray with butter. Line the inside of the baking tray with greaseproof paper and butter it up.

2. Mix the butter and sugar with a whisk or a large spoon. Add the eggs and the flower and mix it until it’s a nice and creamy texture.

3. Pour the mix into then baking tray and level it all out.

4. Put it all in the oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes until it’s a golden brown colour.

With your finger your can push down the middle your sponge cake to see if it’s ready or you can put a knife through the middle and if the knife comes out clean then you know that the cake has cooked all the way through.
